Apple’s long history of pissing people off by killing stuff
Stephanie Buck

Nice recap of changes in tech by Apple. I will say I have no objection to removing the headphone port per se. My concerns have more to do with concerns over what removing the port means. Th headphone port was analog so uncontrollable from DRM standpoint. With no port, all sound is now digital and can be subjected to DRM. I can see the first time something doesn’t play due to DRM licensing issues. The result is things you have purchased would become unusable not for any reason than you failed to pay for this that or the other thing. If Apple rally wanted to impress me a phone with a week between charges would be truly amazing.
