Sounds like the promise of 3GLs back in the 90s. Theissue with code isn’t the code per se. anyone can learn the less than 100reseved word in javascript or the less than 40 in Ruby or the less than 50 java. The issue has historicaaly been and continues to be be that managers misunderstand how coding works in much the same way they misunderstand how their car or electricity works. They wouldn’t ask for things by saying if I put a switch here why can’t I turn on and off all the light’s in my house individually? Or let’s put another wheel in the middle of the front of the car. They have some understanding that the switch needs wireing hooked to it and the wheel needs to serve some purpose. But to extend it further. it goes past that. what steps are actually involved in wiring up the switch to work how you want? Managers and other office workers don’t evaluate what they do in that sort of analytical way.
