Javy against. Jot — Black Coffee …. Javy

For a cup test of black coffee, we mixed 113 teaspoons of Javy with 1 tablespoon JOT per 8oz. of water. It is evident that there’s an enticing visual distinction between Javy and Jot as black roasted coffees with Javy’s being lighter than Jot’s. Also, my husband and me both agree that Javy’s coffee was richer and bolder with a more bitter aftertaste. Jot’s coffee was much lighter and more subtle.

My husband loves a robust black coffee. This is the reason he prefers Javy to Jot. However, he did however say that he prefers a ratio of at least two teaspoons per eight ounces of water for the Javy concentrate.

I believe that drinking a latte or splash that is made of creamer and milk is the most effective method to drink my cup of coffee. So, it matters to me that the liquid coffee concentrate blends well with milk or creamer (for reference, Javy is on the left, and Jot is to the right).

When making lattes, both Javy and Jot needed a gentle stir to ensure it mixed thoroughly. Since Javy’s concentrate is more powerful than Jot’s, I noticed the coffee to be a lot more than Jot’s in lattes. Also, I made a mocha mixing warm chocolate syrup and Javy’s rich, nutty flavor was the clear winner for me with regard to flavor-infused lattes.

Both were great for different reasons, but I loved each of them due to their distinctive flavours. If I’m in the mood for simply a cup of latte that is fresh, I choose Jot. When I want something bolder and more exciting I prefer Javy. There are also limited-edition flavors and seasonal flavors, meaning you can choose from a variety of choices.

Cost per bottle…Javy

One teaspoon of concentrate per 30 cups is enough to make 30 cups of coffee with every bottle of Javy. At $24.95 for a bottle, Javy will cost approximately 85 cents per cup or $1.66 per cup, if you use 2 teaspoons per serving like my husband does.

Every bottle of Jot makes 14 cups of coffee. At $26 per bottle, Jot costs $1.86 per serving. When you join Javy the price is at a minimum of $18 per bottle (with a first-time deal of $12.95 per bottle for the first month’s order). Javy’s pricing is the most economical option.

Sustainability…Tie

I prefer buying eco-friendly products, so I am glad that both Javy and Jot have an eye for sustainability. Jot’s beans originate from organic farms in South America and Central America. They also have a particular focus on female-owned farms.

Javy is partnering with Raiz Sustainability (r) to procure coffee from farms that employ techniques of regenerative agriculture. This partnership is taking sustainability to a new level by offering ecological services and farmer support in addition to promoting soil health, biodiversity, and soil rebuilding.

Our verdict…Javy

The best coffee concentrate is the one you like most, which can depend on factors such as the flavors, price and much more. It also depends on the type of coffee concentrate that can be consumed as black coffee, as lattes, or both.

My husband and I are both more likely to select Javy. Javy’s microdose concentrate enables us to make use of less coffee and make more. This means that Javy will last longer than Jot. Plus, Javy’s rotation of limited-edition and seasonal flavors allows us to jazz up our morning brew with a unique and fun choice.
