Interesting perspective. As a former CEO who employed hundreds of so-called “Millenials” and as a father of a young man and young woman who fall age-wise into the category, I observe that mostly the discussion is at the core superficial and silly. People are people, which means generation upon generation have learned to adapt to the changing environment around them. There is nothing at all new about that. I do not buy into the stereotypes of any generational characterization, and have seen how the nonsense of lumping folks into such a grouping tends to redefine their humanity (How am I supposed to act? What should I look like? What should I be doing?, etc.)
Those who are successful in any age tend to have certain qualities independent of generation or age. That might be a more relevant line of study for all of us, including Millenials (www.newviewconcepts.com).
The world is changing? Of course it is changing! That is about as insightful as there are approximately 24 hours in a day. It’s how you use the changes, adapt to the changes and drive the changes that are more significant. The fact is, the world will change without you. The challenge is to change the world within you.
