So you weren’t upset enough to delete Snapchat when the Bob Marley filter came out but now that there is something remotely racist against people who look like you this makes you upset. The problem you are outlining is not a new one at all and we seriously all want more diversity in the tech world. This has to start at the ground level in Elementary school, middle school, etc. It is not like the tech world doesn’t want to hire more women and more people of color it is simply that the people applying for these jobs are mostly white males. Kind of shitty right? This won’t be the case in 10 years but if you follow your train of thought right now at this moment you would really need to delete all of your apps and programs because the majority of them were created by teams that do not represent diversity.

One last thing I’d like to point out also — China, India, and Japan have extremely racist (and sexist) viewpoints that exist in the undercurrent of their respective cultures as well… Considering the fact that much of our future tech will be developed in these nations we all better find a bigger high horse to jump on.
