Why You Shouldn’t Judge “Disjointed” before getting really high and watching it.

The Netflix series recently dropped it’s second part and I want more!!!

This new sitcom from Chuck Lorre is unlike anything he’s done before. Don’t judge it based off of what you think you know from the episodes you may have seen of Two and a Half Men or even Mom (which is a good show!). Disjointed defies sitcom tropes and structure, makes fun of and celebrates weed culture, and is at it’s core BEAUTIFUL.

Kathy Bates is just having a great time.

Kathy Bates is a world-renowned actress! Her accents may sometimes be confusing on American Horror Story, but she always knocks it out of the park as a character actor. On Disjointed, she’s not really hamming it up at all and instead just being the hippy stoner lady she actually is!

Chris Redd & Betsy Sodaro are a comic match made in heaven.

Chris Redd & Betsy Sodaro play Dank & Dabby, a stoner couple and Youtube sensation. They make dumb jokes, have crazy ideas that they execute, and they make out FURIOUSLY, a lot. Chris Redd has been killing it on SNL, and Betsy Sodaro is a favorite of mine who I am glad to see is getting some recognition.

The interstitials and transitions are LOL-worthy.

In between scenes there are random stock videos that have nothing to do with anything and they make me laugh every time.

They use animated sequences to illustrate the inner workings of the brain and heart!

We saw a little bit of it in the first part with Carter’s PTSD, beautifully animated. In the second part, there are a lot of these sequences, and they’re all made by a different animator! Now THAT’S art.

At the root of all the pot humor is TRUTH.

Disjointed explores PTSD, paranoia, but also issues of family, success, doing what’s right for YOU. I respect it.
