Life of a Personal Trainer
My name is Jesse Sychowski, I’m a twenty-year-old personal trainer from Tampa, Florida and this is a job I couldn't be happier to have. I started off this job with receiving a certification from the International Sports Science Association, which I received when I was in a junior in high school the certification quickly led me to a job working for my gym which I had been going to for four years prior to my employment. As of right now, I have been working with this company for about two years now. My responsibilities as a trainer consist of helping members down a road to find their exact goals and setting them up with a clear plan to achieve their goals in the time frame they accept. I work with people of all different backgrounds from obesity to anorexia making sure they are all very well informed on why they're doing certain movements and the effect it is having on their body as well as finding the problems in their diet and correcting it accordingly.
This job isn't meant for everybody though, someone can be very knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition but not be a very good personal trainer. One of the most important elements of being a fitness trainer that allowed my personality to flourish in this profession is creating a strong connection with every person you work with, creating friendships with everybody to make the training experience much more enjoyable for both participants. Another important element is being able to make the exercise fun as well as informative, most people will not last long if they don't enjoy what their doing they’ll eventually stop exercise altogether or go to someone who makes the experience enjoyable.
I often ask myself what is the most enjoyable part of the job and I have come to the realization that the most enjoyable part is watching my clients completely change their bodies and the joy they have afterward. This is by far the best part about the job but aside from the end result, the journey to getting to their goals is almost just as amazing too see. I have learned so many things about business the last few years including managing my time and not spending time on things to stay busy that aren't progressing me but more on utilizing my time on productivity with my training, working on building a client base from the ground up utilizing my resources to make myself known to people in my geographical location, as well as working closely with the gym business owners to watch the progression of the company build.
