Almost everything in the world is a pocket
Getting down to the basics
Let’s scale way, way back for a moment.
The pocket — very very arguably the most beneficial invention in human history. Why? Because you put stuff in it. And god knows we love stuff.
[I could use the word container, but pocket is generally cuter]
Is there a point to this? Not really. Just a different perspective.
Glass Bottle? Pocket for liquid stuff
Purse? Pocket for your small stuff
Trash can? Pocket for actual stuff
Bowls? Pocket for fruit stuff
A house? Pocket for all of your stuff

Socks? Pocket for your feet
Envelopes? Pocket for your letters
Bookshelf? Pocket for your books
Book? Pocket for words (okay this one’s a stretch)
In any case, now that we got to the fundamental form of all this stuff, imagine using it interchangeably. A trash can also hold books. A glass bottle can also hold letters (which if you had a lot of, would become a book). If you scaled the size of socks to carry books, it would just be a bag.
Take a step back, evaluate, and then zoom back in with a different perspective. This is how innovation happens.
