Attitude of Gratitude Challenge: Day 4 — Writing My Way to a More Thankful Heart

Today’s gratitude is all about my oldest son, my second born, Diego; It’s his 14th birthday. Diego has been a blessing and gift from the beginning. Watching him grow is one of my greatest joys.
I had infertility issues for about four years before I became pregnant with Diego. Scarlett was seven when Diego was born. So many prayers were said asking God to bless us with another child.
Last night, Diego and I went to Vespers at the monastery. I told him we were going to go up there and thank God for his life. He laughed at me and got ready. On the way up there I reminded Diego how much he was prayed for, and not just by me, his dad and sister, but the monks and nuns, and our friends and family prayed too. So many people were thrilled when I finally got pregnant!
Saying I’m grateful for all the prayers is such an understatement. I cannot express my gratitude enough.
I often wonder what he’ll be like when he is fully grown, what will he do with his life. Whatever it will be, I’m already seeing a foreshadowing of the kind of man he may be. I love what I’m seeing, and I’m eternally grateful for my son.
