When I was a child, (btw, I am also a part of “Gen X) I had always assumed that elections for the President of the United States, was run just as let’s say, a High School student running for Class President. The people would vote, the votes were then tallied and the person with the MOST VOTES WON the election; simple..right!!? Well, as I got older, I found out..yeah, not so much!! When we are children ,we see the world in a very simplistic manor; is that not the best!? As a pre-teen, I heard something called the “Electoral College” and I literally thought: “What the hell is an Electoral College; is this some place that one attends to learn and report on the elections?” Please, keep in mind, I was only about 12 years old! After that, I quickly learned about the complete election process and to my delight, I did learn exactly what the “Electoral College” is…Delegates/Super Delegates. I am now 42 years old and I still believe, with everything in me, that an election should be won by the person with the MOST votes from the PEOPLE who have voted!
