I realise how upsetting losing the Google Developer Expert title must have been. I am however, in awe of your resilience, shaking it off like a champ and going on to have such a terrific year. It’s truly admirable.

I would quickly like to say that from your rendition, it is clear you are yet to understand why that tweet must have upset someone even after deleting it. While you have stated a very important and obvious one here as number 4 (I wish it came as number 1 though), I think it is important to understand by how much your tweet must have been scrutinised after the report came in. Every word and punctuation must have been thoroughly evaluated to understand the context. My understanding of your [deleted] tweet was you bringing up an analogy that suggested that if for any reason a lady is harassed it was because she was dressed like a whore and inadvertently, asking for it.

“… why did you too dress like a whore”

The use of “too” suggests that she must have been scantily dressed to provoke harassment. While this may not have been the message you were trying to pass across (I really hope it wasn’t), it could have been easily misconstrued. Going forward, I think it is a very important lesson that I myself have learnt. In today’s world, it is important that when educating an ignorant person, we strive to remain politically correct in communication.

Two wrongs don’t make a right at the end of the day and I am glad that to some extent you recognise this. I hope that you maintain the relationships you have built over the years and this single incident does not provoke you to burn any bridges.
