About Me
My name is Jessica Garza and I’m a digital nomad and the former COO of Nomad Internet. The driving force behind Nomad Internet’s success was Jaden Garza, my husband and I were do-it-all behind the scenes.
But what was the purpose of us building Nomad Internet? What prompted me to join the vision of my husband? Well, the digital divide. Yes, the digital divide was the biggest thing that was driving us crazy. The ground reality was screaming that people are still devoid of internet connectivity around the United States.
Being a digital nomad myself, I knew the harsh reality of internet connections around the US. Whenever I visited a place far, isolated yet beautiful — the biggest issue for me was to stay connected with the rest of the world. It isn’t a good experience. Think about the people who live there. The same goes for the rural areas. No real connectivity, just promises.
But all that had to change. That’s why in 2017, me and my husband came up with the most reliable and vast internet Wi-Fi services. Connect is meant to serve remote villages, RV parks, rural communities, digital nomads, travelers, etc.
Basically, the idea was to provide internet in every corner of the United States.
On the other hand, it wasn’t a cakewalk. It was hard. And I’d say it was supposed to be hard. If it was easy, then everyone would have done it.
I was part of the earliest initiatives that we moved forward with — it was in 2017. An RV Park in Johnson City, Texas gave us the job to enhance the internet connectivity around the entire RV park. And boy oh boy — the job was done really well. The mission was accomplished.
And from there on, I went flying with the company’s success. Inspired by our early-stage successes, we started covering the entire state of Texas with our internet services. The endeavor was well thought out, and the response was also good or rather great. By then, Nomad Internet was a household name. Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas — you name every city of Texas, we were present in it providing our services.
One of the biggest things behind my personal success was that I took my job seriously. Whatever I did, I put 100% effort in it. I was breaking new barriers. I was exploring new things. I was putting in the grind. And all I knew was grind.
And it helped me a lot as a contributor. Together we went on to fulfill the vision of Nomad Internet, which was to serve the rural communities with top-notch Wi-Fi services.
And there was a reason behind me being part of this vision. I knew the sobering reality behind all the promises that the government made in bringing internet connection to rural areas. I knew that no real work was being done from the government and authorities’ side. Due to all this, millions of people are devoid of internet in the United States.
The outcome? Insufficient educational infrastructure, and limited job opportunities in those regions, led to an economic decline in those areas.
However, just because the government isn’t taking action doesn’t mean we can’t. With the support of Nomad Internet, I’ve taken the initiative to make a difference. I’ve chosen to be a catalyst for change. The outcomes speak for themselves. Talk to those who have utilized our internet services. The enthusiastic feedback about our efforts has been incredibly heartening.
