Facebook is a lot like my Mother, it documents everything!
I have always known that you can research your past search history and dig into your earlier likes and shares, but never have I realized that you can review your history since the beginning of your membership. Facebook remembers everything, such as your 10+ relationships from the last 5-years and when your Grandmother passed away. Such a refreshing moment when you received an “On this day” notification about Pepper, your dead Dog from 10-years ago.
You can simply go into your search history and scroll for hours, reminiscing on your past funny videos and wondering what enticed you to search “largest dog breeds”. The reason why Facebook is so good at creating social media addictions is because of how they design and create relationships with media platforms.
Just like my Mother, Facebook remembers everything. Sometimes I have the feeling of regret of why I liked Nickelback, and how could I have possibly followed a Boy Band called Brocken Asunder. I guess I should stop looking at my past search history and focus on the privacy issue that Facebook clearly documents.
Should we as the consumers, the costumers, the reason of why Facebook existence be upset? I am not upset, we choose this podium. You choose to document your likes, dislikes, sad faces, shares and comments. You choose this stage, this public platform, the say everything, see everything movement of this digital world. So…Stand tall, but remember just like your Mother, Facebook remembers everything.
