Having written here, there, and everywhere for years, I’m filing this under “things I wish someone had told me” when I first started. Thanks for the reminder that good writing doesn’t come with a built-in audience. The hustle really is a 50–50 effort, where making great content, which seems like it should be everything (or at least enough) doesn’t even come close to finishing the job. It’s the difference between writing well and doing it successfully.
