Hello guys! Team LEGACIE here again. Previously, we discussed one of the problems faced by the Sachet Water industry in Nigeria; LACK OF ACCRUED SAVINGS. Today, our focus will be on another problem faced by this industry.

*theme song drops* I vibe in . . .

Straight to the matter of the day . . . Who’s got news on my drum emoji already? Sigh . . .

Another intro without a drum roll, this is too sad. Anyways the complete matter of the day now . .

PROBLEM 3: DEPLORABLE HANDLING & DURABILITY

Inadequacies in handling & durability

This problem is centered on packaging. We are familiar with the fragile nylon bags used for packaging the sachet water so this gist shouldn’t be hard to get. Now unto my ‘did you know’ section…

1. Did you know that for every 20 sachets of water, a packaging bag is needed?

2. Did you know that these bags are geometrically made to carry only 20 sachets of water?

*inserts dramatic pause*

P.S I need your very awesome imaginative mind to work with me from here on . . .

The picture above shows the packaging process in the industry, no need to stress how tedious that is also keeping in mind that these bags are fragile and there’s the problem of inferiority. Imagine if during this process, a bag breaks open or tears up, a new bag is needed. Talk less of during distribution where some bags break up while trying to carry them to their destination.

These bags are bought in bundles, each containing Ten Packs (100 nylon bags per pack). Following a rough but conservative estimate, we can safely say out of 50 bags of sachet water produced, only 37 nylon packing bags make it through from production through to end user (U & I). Thus leading to a hike in the cost of production of each sachet of water.

SPOILER ALERT: Sneak peek into our solution to this . . .

*at least tell me there’s something to replace a drum emoji, I’m going to cry soon*

“Durable, reusable, biodegradable and geometrically framed handling bags”

*Crowd applauds* yeah I know, we’re pretty awesome like that… LOL

TILL NEXT TIME . . .

THEME SONG: MOTOSPORTS (MIGOS, NICKI MINAJ, CARDI B) because it’s impossible to not vibe to this . . .
