Jessie Weissman, Formerly of Sarasota, FL: Legal Education
Jessie Weissman is a successful legal professional who lived and worked in Sarasota, FL. She moved to Florida to pursue her university education and has since built a thriving career. Ms. Weissman began her education at the University of Tampa, where she was an award-winning student. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and then attended Stetson University College of Law, Florida’s oldest law school.
While at Stetson, former Sarasota, FL resident Jessie Weissman graduated with her Juris Doctor degree as an award-winning student who was active within her school. She mentored under the Director for the Center of Excellence in Advocacy at Stetson and honed her skills as an advocate.
“I was making invaluable connections, and having immeasurable success,” said Ms. Weissman, when reflecting on her second and third years at law school. “At graduation, I was awarded the Victor O. Wehle Award for Outstanding Trial Advocacy Performance for ‘booking’ or getting a perfect grade and the highest grade in my Trial Advocacy class. I excelled at Criminal Procedure, Professional Responsibility, Evidence, Advanced Trial Advocacy and anything advocacy related.”
After earning her Juris Doctor degree, Ms. Weissman set her sights on a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Trial Advocacy. At the time, the degree was offered only at Temple University of Law in Philadelphia. Stetson introduced the LLM in Trial Advocacy and, against the odds, she was invited to apply and accepted into the program. “I learned more in that 2 ½ years then I could have ever imagined,” she said.
Ms. Jessie Weissman worked hard to excel in her legal education, and it has more than paid off. She enjoyed a thriving career in Sarasota, FL, and is surrounded by a network of supportive industry professionals.
