Thank you for sharing this. I started my career at Google in customer support and am now a Product Manager elsewhere. It definitely felt like battle to move into more and different things but it was also an opportunity where you could start building your chops and prove yourself. This shift is definitely rough on individuals, as you mentioned, but it’s also rough on companies who are now missing entire groups who can go on to benefit them in untold ways.
