You may have seen our how-to guide on making Jelly Cups last week, if not you can check it out by clicking that link. Another concept that has been gaining real traction on our social media is the Cocktail Bubble. Using a Vapour Cloud in conjunction with the JetChill machine we can create large bubbles filled with flavoured vapour that sit against the rim of the glass and really adds theatre to the serve. Here’s a step by step with pictures of how to do it:

Step 1: Get your Equipment Together

For this you’ll need…

  • One Vapour Cloud & JetChill Glass
  • Your choice of Vapour Drop (flavoured essence)
  • Bubble Lick (and small shallow glass)
  • Ingredients for your cocktail & suitable glassware

Step 2: Make your Cocktail and prepare the glass.

We chose to make a quick concoction using the following recipe:

  • 25ml Stillhouse Peach Tea Whiskey
  • 50ml Noveltea
  • 25ml Cherry Juice
  • Dash of William Fox Vanilla Syrup
  • Pinch of Black Chameleon Activated Charcoal

Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass.

To prepare the glass we need to rim it with some water as seen below:

Once rimmed, the glass should hold the bubble much better and prevent it from bursting.

Step 3: Pour in your cocktail to the prepared glass.

Step 4: Prepare the Bubble Lick by pouring into its shallow coupe

Step 5: Ready to Bubble!

Prepare a charged JetChill glass and fill a suitable flask with hot water. The equipment should be placed fairly close together next to the cocktail.

Step 6: Place the JetChill glass into the Vapour Cloud.

Step 7: Drop your choice of flavour drops over the charged glass, we chose Rhubarb in this case.

Step 8: Pour the hot water into the charged glass to start the reaction.

Step 9: Dip the end of the tube into the Bubble Lick mixture and prepare to gently place the lid on the Vapour Cloud chamber.

Step 10: Place the lid on the chamber to start the bubble growth!

Step 11: Let the bubble grow on the surface of the cocktail until it covers the face of the glass completely.

Step 12: Serve and allow the patron to pop the bubble at their leisure!

We hope you enjoy creating this concept in your own venue or at home. Please get in touch with us on our Facebook page if you have any queries!
