Immersive Design Week

A festival spotlighting innovative designers, projects and technologies that sit at the nexus of film, theater, gaming, mixed reality, & immersive storytelling.

San Francisco, January 5, 2019 —Immersive Design Summit is pleased to announce the launch of the first Immersive Design Week taking place around the Bay Area from February 20–27. The Immersive Design Week is open to the general public, and is an extension of the two-day Immersive Design Summit.

Throughout the week, attendees can enjoy immersive installations at OneDome, lightening talks at the Secret Alley, design workshops at PianoFight, escape the room experiences at the Palace of Fine Arts, as well as panels, behind-the-scenes tours, happy hours and tech demos at various locations around the Bay Area.

About Immersive Design Summit:

The first Immersive Design Summit took place at The Speakeasy in 2018, with speakers from Meow Wolf, The VOID/ILMxLAB, Two Bit Circus, Punchdrunk International, Oculus, and more. The upcoming Immersive Design Summit will take place at the Swedish American Hall on Feb 22nd and 23rd. This year, there will be speakers from Walt Disney Imagineering, Magic Leap, Dreamscape (Alien Zoo), Mycotoo and Giant Spoon (Bladerunner 2049 Experience & SXSWestworld), and more.

About Immersive Design Week:

Due to the popularity of the two-day summit, the organizers decided to curate a calendar of design workshops, panels, demos, games, behind-the-scenes tours, special performances, immersive installations, and happy hour meetups throughout the month of February, but focusing specifically on the week of Feb 20 — Feb 27th.
