Jeunessima Friday Lifestyle Delights 156. The Top Health & Wellness Trends & Devices from CES 2020
Hello, Ines here from the biggest Consumer Electronics Show in the world, from CES in Las Vegas.
It is here where you can discover the most exciting tech products of the future.
Not all of them get to the market but even if they don’t, they give a good idea what type of products and services you can expect in the future.
In this week’s lifestyle delights I share some of the products, trends & ideas with you that impressed me most.
Measure Your Blood Glucose …
… continuously … ideally without pricking your skin.
Blood glucose is a very important topic not only here at CES. It is super important for you if you want to stay healthy and beautiful for a long time to come.
It is a high blood sugar level and extreme blood sugar spikes that damage your body and let you age quicker.
So, understanding what foods, drinks, stresses and other life circumstances raise your blood sugar is very important for you.
The best way to get those insights is measuring your glucose around the clock. But while devices like Abbott’s Freestyle Libre 2 allow you a continuous measurement … you still have to prick your skin slightly to attach the sensors.
While I had discovered only one device at last year’s CES that was meant to measure glucose non-invasively, there are plenty more devices at this year’s CES and even more coming out in the near future.
Spend More Time in Front of a Mirror …
… a smart mirror.
Mirrors are becoming THE platform for your beauty, health, news, exercise and so much more.
Partnering with companies like Wella, Pierre Fabre, Withings and others, CareOS’ mirror Poseidon allows you to do skin analyses, check out pollution levels, measure and correct your posture, track your biomarkers like weight and so much more.
The Savvy SmartMirror from Electric Mirror allows you to use your Android apps and connected devices to eg control the temperature in your room, see who’s ringing your door bell, check how you’ve slept, see what’s on your calendar for the day and check your bank account, watch TV, find out what your friends have posted on social media, …
If you want to work out you can do so with world-class trainers in live sessions or on demand with Echelon Reflect.
Only Buy the Food & Skin Products That Work for Your Own DNA …
… with DNANudge. Using quick DNA tests and a database of food & skincare products, DNANudge allows you to choose the products that work for your personal DNA so you can live healthier and happier for a long time to come.
The products analyzed are currently mostly for the UK but many more products will be added for Europe and the US over the next months
How does DNANudge work?
It’s actually super simple. You either go to one of the shops that offer the DNA test or … in the near future … you can also send in your cheek swab to get your DNA tested.
That is then analyzed and uploaded to a capsule that you can wear as bracelet.
The next time you go shopping, you scan the barcode of any product with the integrated barcode scanner and the bracelet will show you a green light (yes, it’s good for you) or a red light (not right for you). It’s as simple as that.
And as movement impacts how eg foods are metabolized, sometimes a food that is normally not so good for you is actually okay if DNANudge senses that you’ve been moving a lot. Great if you love chocolate, for instance.
Enjoy Your Sex Life …
… with adult toys … or also called sex tech.
Having previously been frowned upon and an award taken away from a sex toy at last year’s CES after the jury had realized what it was, this year CES decided to open up more and allow sex toys on the exhibition floor.
Sex is very important for our sexual health, wellness … and joy of life. So, enhancing it … with high-quality products … should be something we can freely talk about. And seeing the attendees’ interest, CES is certainly going the right direction.
Some of the products that are catching a lot of attention at CES 2020 are Lora DiCarlo’s Osé that stimulates G-spot and clitoris allowing for more profound orgasms.
XR Brands’ Ergo-Fit inflatable strapless strap-on that will be coming out soon features an inflatable vaginal bulb that adapts to the shape of the vagina keeping the strap-on in place without the need for constant vaginal contractions while feeling comfortable inside. It also provides clitoral stimulation for the wearer while the insertable end is shaped to target the G-spot or prostate.
Crave wants to make vibrators chic, so its Vesper products are jewelry and vibrators at the same time. You can choose either a necklace or a ring … and … when asked … if you talk about your Vesper as jewelry or as vibrator. Would you dare?
Check Your Eyes to Measure Your Health …
… Iridology is an alternative medicine technique that uses the eye to detect illnesses of the body’s organs. But it takes a lot of experience to ‘read’ the condition of your organs and your metabolism.
Kemi from 3E intends to make those measurements very easy … and consistent … and provide you with guidance on the food and exercises that will help you overcome any unhealthy conditions.
Your Teeth are the Door to Your Health …
… so, cleaning them well is important. Over the last decades, toothbrushes were pretty standard and innovation scarce.
But this is changing. Here at CES I’ve discovered Y-Brush, which … at its highest intensity … cleans your teeth in just 10 seconds.
I also found Plaqless, the first brush that can actually detect plaque and when you brush your teeth with it, tell you once the plaque is removed.
My personal favorite is Toothwave from Silk’n that reduces tartar, that can normally only be removed by a dentist, using radio frequency.
