American Pastoral
American Pastoral is a deeply intense drama about the difficulties of relations between parents and children. A well-written script and excellent acting of Ewan McGregor allows the audience to truly empathize with his character and the tough challenges that life brings him. Setting of post-war America provides the film a certain visual charm. The moral of the movie is simple and strong: even an decent upbringing in a full family does not guarantee that the offspring will become a decent person because the influence of social connections can be crucial for the development of the rebellious nature and can be barely impacted by parenting. There is a powerful scene in this film which takes place in a hotel room which is remarkable as a standalone scene, but it really stands out here as if part of some other movie.
My overall score is 10/10 and I highly recommend to watch this great movie.
