Have you ever heard of Poveglia Island before? This island had been used for many years. They first mentioned the island back in the chronicles of 421, where people fled to the island to escape the barbarian invasions. Then was noted as being used in the 9th century, which is when the population of the island started to grow. In 1379 Venice came under attack and people from the island were moved.

Back in 1793 to 1814, it was used as a quarantine station. They use to take people over by boats to the island, that had the plague. Sure you had seen the plague masks the doctors use to wear on the boats.

How would you like this mask being one of the last things you see before you would die from the plague? The plague ended up killing 1 out of 3 Europeans. Much like when today's pandemic was at its worst spreading quickly and killing many all over the world.
