Gone like a red star

A poem that I wrote years ago.
“Gone like a red star”
So what if I did like you?
Was that a mistake of what I saw?
Like fireflies in the night sky
You have that special glow
But you’re not the star I thought to be
You buzz a lot and sting like a bee
Your ego was so high, thinking you’re so fly
Whatever you were thinking was delusive
Those plastic Lego blocks never existed
Only real tainted glass walls in the holy ground
I never wanted to stay in your ray of lights
Where there are shots in the wild playground
Now you’re gone like a red star
Everything what happened is a mess
Never thought how ruthless this be
Blame me for my blind optimism
