Daily piano practice has become my ‘practice’

  • I don’t know about you but I have been trying for years to fit all the life-enriching habits I’ve been learning about into my daily life with varying degrees of success. Here’s a partial list to be done daily
  • Eat 1/2 cup of blueberries,
  • 45 minutes of mindfulness
  • 30 mins of aerobic exercise
  • A walk in nature-preferably barefooted
  • Lemon-turmeric water on awakening
  • Yogic breathing and asanas
  • Stretches
  • Gratitude journal
  • And much more
  • I’ve learned about the importance of having a daily practice- not continuing to spend your life seeking, but actually practicing
  • After about 50 years I’ve finally got it figured out for myself. I can simply play the piano for an hour a day. This can be my daily practice. I have been practicing since last December. I find myself incredibly grateful for this. I am getting everything that I need from this simple practice: confidence, creative opportunity, personal transformation, patience, catharsis, discipline, those things off the top of my head. I recommend a daily practice to you, in whatever form you love, be it yoga or writing or painting or music or gardening. The habit is like a miracle. It is gradually changing me.
