The Problem with iPad
Dan Counsell

At first, when I read about the mouse support idea for iOS and iPad, I was laughing. But the more I think about it, the more I think it would be brilliant. This wouldn’t be an admission of defeat by Apple, but just another way for certain people who prefer the mouse to interact with the iPad. And I think I would be one of them.

The other interesting (and very feasible idea) is the concept of allowing floating windows on the iPad. This would add another multitasking facet to the iPad which would satisfy more users compared to current multitasking features. All apps could implement them just like they do for share sheets, Notification Center widgets.

Imagine that, Microsoft brought the touch support to its desktop operating system, Windows, while Apple brings mouse support for its mobile OS. What a wonderful time to be alive.
