Perhaps you had another comment in mind when you read mine. I simply observed that “our (perception of) fear [is] in some sense equal.” Fear is fear, although it can range in intensity. Just like happiness, or joy, the emotion’s quality is recognizable across humans even if the intensity is different from one event to the next. It is the commonality of perception, of emotion, enabling us to have empathy for others that was the take-away from the article. Of course, YMMV.
