TypeParis16: A typeface design program in Paris

The 5-week typeface design program that you’ve been waiting is back for 2016!

TypeParis is an intensive programme in Paris who was launched in 2015 by Typofonderie team, offering a unique approach in Europe to learn type design from scratch following a long tradition of curriculum started in France in the 70’s. Renowned professionals and experienced instructors include Mathieu Réguer, Julien Priez and me. Alice Savoie and Xavier Dupré will conduct specialized and hands-on sessions. The weekly international guest critics for #typeparis16 are Indra Kupferschmid, Martina Flor, Peter Bilak (Typotheque), Alexandra Korolkova (ParaType)… More people to be announced!

The comprehensive programme runs 5 days a week for 5 weeks and totals 160 hours with your instructors. During this time several visits have been arranged to see notable french institutions and discover the immense and fascinating history of type, including the collections at Bibliothèque Nationale, Bibliothèque Mazarine, Paul Jammes bookshop, Musée de l’Imprimerie in Lyon, etc. In 2015, the attendees came from all over the world: Australia, Canada, France, Lebanon, Mexico, Poland, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United States…
