The Shut-In Economy

Heaven help the United States! This is NOT a sustainable path to the future.
Compared to the traditional US suburbs, I found “urban life” to be refreshing for it walkability. Of course that wasn’t in a US city (which must be why I’ve not seen this “behavior”) but an Asian city where “the street” is life with constant sparkle, spectacle, sound and sustenance. Walking two blocks is a joy because of the people you see and things you discover. Being “forced” to go out to eat and run errands keeps you fit and fluent in the life around you.
This urban reality in the US is not progress — it’s infantilization.
