Humor from Monty Python

Monty Python — The Knights of Ni scene

The Knights who say Ni:

The humor in this story is that they demonstrate their power saying Ni. It is funny because instead of using threat or other forceful methods, they use “Ni”. They use this to get acts of shrubbery and in order for people to pass through the woods. Then they say they changed their name to get more shrubbery from Arthur and his followers. It is funny because it is mockery. It is also British humor, which is ridiculous and absurd. One must understand the British humor in order to get the full effect out of the scene. This is based on humor that has surreal jokes that subverted sense and logic.
