Consistency — The Next Level
Everyone here has heard of this phrase from Bruce Lee — “I am not worried about a person knowing 10,000 different kicks but the person that is practising that one kick for 10,000 times”. I am no different from most people here as well thinking that KNOWING everything in this world will give me ultimate power and knowledge that will help me to go through our lives.

Knowledge is POWER, however how much knowledge is too much knowledge? I think I somewhat have figured this out through my daily activities and practices. Just a bit of a background, I been watch tons of self help videos especially in Tech, Data Science and attending business seminars to constantly improve on myself and meet more people. So here are some reasons:
We work on too many different skills that we become average on each of them.
As per the way I started, as Tech people we have this constant nagging problem in that we always have to improve ourselves as constant new Technology keeps coming out day in and day out. What I found out is that you don’t need to be good in all of them, here’s why:
There’s OVERLAP — Most languages can do the same thing, I found that out through the hard way thinking that hey, I need to learn python because of so and so and PHP because of this and that. However, if you look deeper, python has Django / Flask and PHP has different frameworks of Laravel, Yii2, CakePHP which in the end personally does meet the same needs of my programming journey. [So focus on 1 Programming Language or skill and focus on till you become an expert and then you can read the book by Russell Brunson “Expert Secrets” and build a tribe and an community]
We don’t put in the work or we go back to our old selves.
Pretty sure everyone here knows that if something can help you to earn a million dollars but if you don’t act on it, someone else will take that million dollars from you.
There’s this story of a chicken who believe that chicken can fly. This chicken is very motivated and brought a community of chicken who believe in his dream of “I can fly”. So they through countless of struggles to climb up into the mountain and meet the Grand Master Eagle. As you know Eagles are probably one of the majestic animals in the animal kingdom so you want to LEARN from the BEST. The chicken community actually was left with 3 chickens that reached the eagle although they started with more than a 100 chickens. [People give up on their dreams before they even put in the work] The chicken asked the Eagle, “Please teach me the way to fly” and the Grand Master Eagle agreed and kicked the chicken off the mountain. At this point the chicken was desperate and started flapping its wings desperately and true enough the chicken managed to fly! [When you are in the worst state of your life that may be the time where you become successful] The chicken then manage to fly back to the Grand Master Eagle and thank him profusely for teaching them how to fly and they WALKED back to the village and continued their normal lives.[Something is weird here right?]
We don’t consistently work on our craft
Why did i say that something is weird after the chicken walked back to the village and continued their normal lives? They KNOW HOW TO FLY! Why didn’t they fly back?
Isn’t the story relatable to us? We go to seminars, we go to learn from the best lecturers in school and even managed to go overseas to study/work from the industry best. But when we return home, our old habits started taking over and we do the same thing over and over that made us mediocre or “Average”. You DON’T want to be AVERAGE! You want to be the best! You want to become an Eagle that can teach people to fly, or help the society with your knowledge and skills!
A programmer needs 2–3 years before they can become one of the better programmers. A YouTuber probably need 100 videos before they started trending. A blogger need to write 100–200 post before they become a professional blogger and even then the number will only keep increasing as more and more people are coming into the space.
So it’s time to stop being Average! It’s okay to have 2–3 skills that you are expert in and that’s really awesome! When you have these skills that people need or can help you generate income, that’s when you realized that you are an expert and THAT you can help people that want to reach to your position in a faster pace [That’s human evolution, passing down of knowledge and skills from the past so that we can grow faster and improve ourselves faster]
Discipline is not fun, but it is a necessity
To be consistent, you need to be discipline. You can take a day off or two but when you are working on your craft. You need to work day in and day out just to make sure you are one step closer to your goal! Keep it simple! Discipline is tough because we made it tough for ourselves by setting unrealistic expectations. Set realistic expectation and conquer your day!
All the best! Keep doing what you love and hone your skills and craft so that one day you will be the one sharing and teaching the next generation THE ONE THING that allow you to be where you are in the future.
