Render to Cesar the things that are Cesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.
“Then they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and the Herodians, to catch Him in His words. When they had come, they said to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and care about no one; for You do not regard the person of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Shall we pay, or shall we not pay?” But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may see it. ” So they brought it. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at Him.” Mark 12:13–17 NKJV
“The cross is a symbol of Roman domination. Take issue with Rome’s right to rule, and Rome will put you on one of its crosses. The revolutionaries wanted to uproot both Rome and its bloody crosses. Instead of ridding the land of crosses, as many would have expected of the Messiah, Jesus, in obedience to God, will die on one of them. Thus he will give Caesar the blood he demands while at the same time giving God the obedience he demands. He will render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s. Jesus leads a quiet revolution. He defeats evil not by killing enemies but by dying for them.”
Instead of getting rid of the bloody crosses that Rome used to repress Jewish people from revolution, Jesus died on the Rome cross.
Isaiah 55:8–11 NKJV
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
The world needs worshippers of God. We pray, humbly!
Don’t get trapped by taking a particular stance.
Are we for republicans or democratic? Both！ Neither！
The bible teaches:
Care for the poor and care for the environment
Life begins in a womb and marriage is between a man and a woman
We are truth tellers。
Jesus says my kingdom is not on this earth. Jesus is lord of heaven and earth. What Jesus is saying is not to use force, but by prayer!
Example: William Wilberforce, a leader of the movement to abolish the slave trade in England.
“Render to God the things of God: Worship him. As we worship him, he transforms us into the kinds of people who take up our crosses and follow Jesus in the way of self-giving love — so that we are even willing to die for our enemies. Would you lay down your life for Hillary Clinton? Would you lay down your life for Donald Trump? Jesus would. Jesus did. Jesus took up his cross: he died for both of them — and for us. Will we likewise take up our cross — that is, the cross of selfgiving love — and follow Jesus worshipfully, prayerfully, and humbly into the world — and into the voting booth?”
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” I Timothy 2:1–4 NKJV
