It seems that what you mean here by “design” is a refined implementation.

Well, if only everyone understood design as being “the testing of assumptions that justify a certain implementation” then we wouldn’t have so much blatant waste happening in product.

For sure i’m keeping things pretty narrow here — but my main point is that even IF you manage to get the engineers and designers to create something great, it still might not “click” with the people you hope you buy/use it. I’m trying to point out the preciousness that this strive for having products “just right” before launch.
