Today we added a number of new features to Jifi’s meeting transcription feature that significantly improve the user experience. Read on to find out more!

All Jifi users could already store meeting audio recordings on our secure cloud indefinitely — after today’s update, audio recordings will get transcribed automatically and become available immediately for your reference. We’ve been building Jifi with a cross-platform approach from Day 0 — what this means for you: a call recording taken on the Jifi Android app (coming soon!) will be processed and be available across the web and of course mobile apps.

But that’s not all — Jifi can now analyze your meeting’s transcript and automatically recommend action items. Our ultimate goal is simple — remove the need to type / write anything while the meeting is going on — and this is one more step in the direction. The implication for users: simply upload your meeting audio, and get back recommended action items that you can then assign with just a click.

Finally — we updated the “Transcripts” tab to add the ability to play back recordings you’ve taken in a meeting.

These features have been built with our users’ data security as a core priority. How this reflects in the app: while the automatically generated transcripts for an agenda item are visible to all meeting participants, the ability to listen to recordings is restricted to the person who uploaded it — meaning your recordings are private by default. Editing a transcript is permitted only to the participant who took the recording — and the edit history is publicly viewable. This ideally brings in a good balance of privacy and transparency — a balance that makes your meetings more actionable!

While these features will eventually be available to Jifi’s paying customers only, during this initial release, we’ve opened them up to all users — you can head over to the Jifi app right now and start using them for free!

That said, this is simply the beginning — in the weeks to come, we’ll be adding stronger natural language processing capabilities to enhance our recommendations, filter out the most important bits of the transcript, and more!
