I have 10 Journal Entries to Finish By the End of Today
Wish me luck folks.
Was it against my better judgment to wait until the day my journal entries were due to finish most of them? Yes. Do I regret it? Also yes. Here we go!
On the Thursday before I left for Paris, I spent the day in London with Sam and Emma. I had bought Sam and I tickets to see Audra McDonald in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, so you could say I was pretty excited. Audra McDonald is a once in a lifetime performer and getting to see her live was one of the better experiences in my life. Prior to seeing her perform, Emma, Sam and I ate lunch in an old public toilet. You read that correctly, a public toilet. It was called Attendant (pause for laughter) and it was actually quite good. While Sam and I waited to go see our play, we walked around Covent Garden, where we saw a street performer who wore next to nothing while juggling knives. It wasn’t so shocking that this street performer was wearing nothing, more so what he was wearing — Union Jack emblazoned underwear, tall socks, and nipple covers. Yes, nipple covers. Most interesting ensemble indeed. After that, we say The Queen of Broadway herself.

Audra McDonald is the most incredible actress that I’ve ever seen live. Let’s just say her six Tony Awards are very well-deserved. I also sat less than thirty feet away from her, and I’m 90% sure we made eye contact. I am still amazed.
After the play was over, Sam and I made our way to Regent’s Park to meet up with Emma and everyone else — Yael, Sophie, Rachel, and Will. Regent’s Park is a spectacle to behold. So, of course, we all took pics. The whole place is kept up not so much as a park, but as a garden.

After we had met up with everyone, we went out for food. Not just any food, probably the best meal I’ve ever had. It was at a play nearby called Baja Spice, and it was SO GOOD. I ordered chicken tikka masala (which I kept calling maRsala), and it was easily the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I’m sad I probably won’t get to eat the same meal ever again, but at least I got pictures of the food! After we ate, it was time to head off on our nine hour bus trip to Paris!
