“Maala-ala Mo Kaya” (“ Would You Remember?”) is a weekly Filipino TV program. Once a week they have an inspiring real life story of every ordinary Filipino letter sender. I love hearing stories through other Filipino’s real-life story. This show always gives me an unforgettable lessons on every episode. I also love the idea of putting their episode title at the end of each episode, each title would relate to a certain thing that conveys to the story. I had fun guessing what each episode would be, sad to say that this show had already ended and it lasted for 25 years. I hate crying, but this show never fails to make me cry.

I have a lot of memorable episodes from this show, let me share some of these inspiring stories that I can remember.

  1. “Upuan” ( “Chair”) — ( stars Gladys Reyes)

This was a story of a young woman about her failed dream, so she tried went along with her father’s dream and that is to become a teacher just like her father. It was a challenging experience on her first year of teaching in a remote area, but later she realized why her father’s ambition was more self-rewarding.

2. “TV” (stars Domini Ochoa and Aiko Melendez)

It’s about these two siblings who got separated when their parents decided to take each of them for each of their parents. One went to a well-off mother and the other went with his irresponsible father. When youngest brother came to find his big sister, he didn’t get a warm welcome from her, instead she mistreated him and told him that she doesn’t want to be around with him.

3. “Tulay” (“Bridge” ) — (stars Rica Peralejo and Ara Mina)

A story of two best friends, one became a famous actress and the other became her personal assistant. At the peak of the her fame, she changed and so as their friendship, but then at the end of it all, they managed to forgive each other’s shortcomings.

4.“ Toga” (“ Graduation Gown”) — (stars Maris Racal)

It’s a young woman’s pledge to fulfill her deceased father’s dream. Her father was strict and worked so hard to give her and her big brother what they needed in order to have a decent life and always reminded them to always keep their grades up. Her died father when she was young and was forced to live in a smaller house with her mother. Her big brother became an irresponsible bum and doesn’t care about her or her mother. After passing through her difficulties, she still managed to finished her college degree without the help of her brother.

5. “Lobo” (“Balloon”)- (stars Maris Racal)

I think this is the most amazing and an enchanting kind of story. It’s about this young woman who keeps on dreaming about her deceased father and told her what she needed to do in order to get help to continue her studies. Her father stopped showing in her dreams when she finished her college degree.

I would say that this is the only show that I wouldn’t want to miss every weekend. They always pick a good inspiring real life story. It only shows that we all struggle in life, but then it always sends us a message of hope. You can still watch some of their rerun episodes through YouTube.

Stay inspired with all these astonishing simple life story of every ordinary Filipinos.
