I’m in the midst of something very similar right now (one of my sisters was rushed to the ER with pneumonia AGAIN just yesterday). I know those discussions and that decision are in my near future. These are the sorts of discussions that no one ever wants to have. I can only hope I have as much dignity and grace as you’ve demonstrated.

Your dad sounds like he was a good man and he did a pretty damn good job raising a good child. I extend my condolences on his passing to you and your family.
