I remember that Jimmy Eat World had an album and song that came out earlier that year called “Bleed American” and the label had them change the album to be self-titled and the song retitled “Salt Sweat Sugar” after 9/11. There was also a band called Sugarcult who retitled and rerecorded their first single called “Everybody’s Talking ‘Bout Blowing Up the Neighborhood.” A very strange time in music history and a lot of people scrambled to sanitize the airwaves. Good article.
