John, I’m up here in Seattle — have been since 1999. But I was born in Cleveland in 1967, so I have an additional 13 years to add to your litany. Most notably, I can add the Kardiac Kids to your list: the 1980 Cleveland Browns led by Brian Sipe. I was in the stands in the since-demolished Lakefront Stadium, in 4F weather (not including windchill), to watch Red Right 88 crush our dreams.

Being from Cleveland can mean that you’re loyal, that you’re stalwart in the face of adversity. Or sometimes, it means we just don’t know when to let go.
