The author is right on one thing — the type of dystopia seen in the book (I haven’t seen the show) can’t realistically happen here and if it somehow did it would take a long time to get there (decades), so there wouldn’t be any young people who remember the ‘before time.’

Other than that, the article just uses the mention of the show as an excuse for a tired and childish invective against Trump and other Republicans. I’m not a fan of Trump, but he is NOT the devil incarnate and hasn’t chosen to pursue many of the things the screeching left expressed the most dismay about.

Oh, I love the euphemism, “unprecedented level of civic engagement” — does ‘civic engagement’ cover the rioting, looting, and assault we’ve seen at many anti-Trump rallies?
