Watching Amazon Prime takes forever — because X-Ray is addictive!

As the new TV-series, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, was released I looked for a way to see it. Since I am a Twitch Prime member I have access to Amazon Prime, so I figured I would give it a go. Unfortunately watching this on Amazon Prime takes forever and it’s all because of X-ray!

If you have never used Amazon Prime, then you probably have no idea what I am talking about. Even some users that have Amazon Prime still don’t know what this is. Officially named as X-Ray for Movies & TV Shows this is a feature that will show you information about things in the movie as they happen.

You know how you always have that one actor/actress that you just can’t remember the name of so you have to pull out your phone and go to IMDB to look it up before it drives you nuts? With x-ray you have that on screen at any time that actor has appeared.

Songs that are played that you like and want to checkup? It’s right there as well as they happen. That is just convenient and great, but then you have the trivia and behind the scenes information. This is where it gets really fun!

Watching Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan there are a lot of cultural and military references, like when Jack goes to France and meet up with the police there. In X-ray you get a nice trivia about the police structure in France. In other places you get trivia on cultural aspects of Islam and even trivia about locations such as their history and placement.

Behind the scenes trivia about actor relations, fun facts about the scenes filmed and so on makes it almost impossible not to check once in a while to see what pops up. While it add to the experience in some cases and just is plain interesting in others it makes watching movies and TV shows slower than usual.

I personally love it.

How about you?

…oh, and the show is pretty great as well.
