Thank you for your informative post. I have downloaded MacKay’s book and moved it up on my reading list.

It is disturbing, but probably not unexpected, that this post has few comments whereas posts dealing with politics, human rights (without regard to human responsibilities), and economic issues generate many comments. (See, for example, “The Pain You Feel is Capitalism Dying” and “The One Piece of Writing Every Hillary Supporter Should Read.”) Voicing an opinion, and/or berating others for voicing a different opinion, is easy. Researching facts and arranging those facts into a comprehensive and cogent argument supporting that opinion is much more difficult. MacKay’s book, from my initial scan, does a superb job of presenting such a comprehensive and cogent argument.
