Interesting that this ThinkProgress article uses the exact same language as others: Trump will violate the Constitution when he takes office because of the Emolument Clause. When in the world have Progressives ever been concerned about the Constitution? Apparently, only now when they feel it may serve their interests. Besides, the Constitution states in Article II, Section 1, Paragraph 7 that “…he [the president] shall not receive within that Period (his time in office) any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them”. That means that he will receive no other income from the United States Government or any of the state governments. It has nothing to do with income from his businesses. Yet that is what Progressives lather over, including Lawrence Tribe.
