Great points on why to pay Wiggins: his plays a ton of minutes, and his potential is bigger than Haywards. I agree with the assessment that playing on a losing team probably influenced his (lack of) defense, which is why I don’t think he’s as valuable as KAT.

The biggest reason I think Wiggins is worth the money is he’s an outstanding Beta. KAT is the Alpha (along with Butler for the next 2 seasons). Betas never get props for their value, and the small-market Wolves need to keep their Beta to enhance their Alpha(s). Otherwise, we’ll be in the Cavs situation, with an Alpha that doesn’t want to play with another Alpha. (Outlier: Golden State, with 2 Alphas that get along — for now. But they’re value overall is enhanced with 3 Amazing Betas: Klay, Draymond, and, to a lesser extent, Iggy).

He’s also worth the money because, like you said, he’s only 22.
