Really good point, as I’m not as invested in Euron at all or believe his villainy is as terrifying as Ramsey. But I wonder if it’s too early to dismiss Euron’s importance, and maybe we can only answer this in hindsight. I agree he hasn’t earned his screen time, as the series only has 11 more episodes to go and steals from other characters.

It’s possible he serves an important purpose for Theon’s redemption, and the show needs him for that arc. (Ideally, Theon would’ve gotten redemption through Ramsey, but Sansa needed her redemption, too). Theon spent the majority of his life as a Stark ward, and wanted nothing more than Ironborn respect. He never got it from his father Balon, and hit rock bottom when Ramsey chopped his dick off. Then, Sansa inspired him to climb up, but he’s back at rock bottom after abandoning ship.

Iron sharpens iron, and he’ll only complete his arc of redemption by defeating Euron, finally getting a measure of respect amongst the Ironborn (or at least, respect within himself). I think Euron’s screen-time is solely to serve Theon’s arc, and it’s a great arc that could potentially have a fantastic payoff.
