Moms can do anything
When my daughter was about three years old, my wife brought her downtown one day to meet me for lunch. It was a warm, sunny summer day and I met them on the street outside my building.
Earlier in the day, my daughter had received a helium balloon. Like any kid that age, she was very proud of that balloon.
I helped her out of the car and then we stood together on the sidewalk while my wife went to find a parking spot. As we stood there, something distracted my daughter and she opened her hand just long enough to let go of her new balloon.
Naturally, the balloon began to float away before either of us had a chance to grab it.
“Daddy! My balloon!” she said.
I tried to gently explain that I was very sorry, but the balloon was already far too high for me to get it for her.
She looked up at her precious balloon, now hundreds of feet in the air, and said to me,
