Being Queen’s Roadie was One Intense, Rewarding Job
Peter Hince

I “worked” as a Lighting Designer during my early 20s (though nothing close to the level of working for a band like Queen), and this does a great job of describing what a wild ride that life is. The job could be a real bitch at times (try loading a 400 pound rack of equipment without a ramp at 4AM with only one other person to help…), but the memories (good and bad) are priceless. The thrill when everything is humming, the band is in the zone and the audience is in the groove… it’s up there with sex, skydivng, and car racing.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
