The edu-Twitter elite (let’s say over 10k followers) have created a perception that they follow a similar number in return. That’s dishonest, and has lead to over inflated numbers of people in their PLN with which they’re engaging. I don’t think Twitter’s problem in edu is growth, but more that those touting the level of engagement and access to the elite as another “box of magic.”
