Persistence Pays Off

It’s an old saying, I know, but it really is true, especially when it comes to prayer.

And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1 (ESV)

Jesus, then told them about the persistent widow who kept pestering a judge until she had received justice. He concluded his parable with these words: “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8)

This is one of many teachings Jesus gives on prayer. In fact, he taught several times about persistence in prayer. We are to continue to plead with God until we have an answer, even if the answer is no!

But the question is the key! Do you have faith to persist in prayer? Is your faith so great that you will not give up? Have you given up on some of your prayers?

Today, renew your prayer effort by simply deciding that you will no longer give up! Keep praying for those things that are heavy on your heart. Keep praying for your family and friends. Keep praying that God would renew you spiritually. Keep praying for a fresh out pouring of his Spirit and love. God will answer those prayers with perfect timing, perfect grace and perfect results!
