Shifting Your Perspective
It’s only been a month since my birthday and yet it feels like it was just yesterday. Many of us are caught up in a way of thinking that if we go through life living every day and not doing anything, that everything is going to work itself out. The sad truth about this way of thinking is that we don’t get results by not doing. We have to take action if we want something to happen.
I’ve realized that no matter how hard I work at something, if I don’t do anything to take what I’ve learned, I won’t get anywhere. That is where I’m at right now. I’ve held this mindset for a long time that my life is already planned for me and all I have to do is wait. But what am I waiting for? Money? More time? Successful job? All of these things are great, but they don’t happen by waiting. I’m sure we’ve heard that life is a waiting game. I don’t believe that statement. I think life is only a waiting game if you let it be a waiting game, but it’s the people that are assertive and determined to grab onto something that get what they want. For the longest time, I believed this and fell into the trap of thinking that if I keep waiting and waiting, success will find its way into my life.
From this point on forward, I’m shifting my perspective. I’m not standing by the sidelines and waiting any more. I’m going to take action. I’m going to create mini goals. I’m going to make the most of my time because time is precious. I wish I would have really took the time to understand that. Let me say it again, time is precious so make every moment count.
