Having been in web development for almost twenty years now, I can tell you that this is a period of enormous activity, churn, and clash of ideas. Your experience is not specific to Angular 2 really, the entire client-side development world is under considerable transformation right now, and that inevitably leads to some confusion and instability. I always recommend in general keeping as much code as possible, regardless of server-side or client-side, independent of a specific framework. A javascript object or function that doesn’t know or care if it is being used as part of a React application or an Angular application is a good thing.
